Revised OSHA electrical rule clears review hurdle
Washington – A final rule updating OSHA standards for power line workers has cleared one of the final regulatory hurdles and could be published as soon as March.
The Office of Management and Budget concluded its review of the Electric Power Transmission and Distribution; Electrical Protective Equipment rule on Dec. 20. OSHA may now proceed with publishing the final rule in the Federal Register.
Each year, 50 power line workers per 100,000 die on the job, according to OSHA.
